Discovery and structure
Business requirements, audiences, user journeys, sitemap and content priorities established before visual decisions begin.
A website should make the business easier to understand, trust and choose. We begin with the offer, audience, sitemap, content and actions the website needs to support before deciding what the interface should look like.
Blunt Notion designs each interface around the project. Most websites move from discovery and structure into visual design before development, with wireframes or additional mobile designs used where they add value. Accessibility, responsive behaviour and search structure are considered from the beginning rather than repaired after launch.
Business requirements, audiences, user journeys, sitemap and content priorities established before visual decisions begin.
Bespoke layouts created around the brand and content rather than forcing the business into a prebuilt theme.
Interfaces planned to work across real screens, input methods and users, with a high accessibility standard throughout.
Wireframes, prototypes and reusable interface rules used where the scale or complexity of the project warrants them.
WordPress is our primary development expertise. We use it as a serious content-management framework, not an excuse to install a theme, stack up plugins and hand the resulting mess to the client.
A Blunt Notion WordPress build can include a completely custom theme, structured content, tailored editing blocks, integrations, WooCommerce and the technical foundations required for accessibility, performance and SEO. We also inherit existing WordPress websites, diagnose what is holding them back and decide whether repair, redevelopment or a phased rebuild makes more sense.
Original themes and purposeful content structures built around the approved design and the way the organisation actually publishes.
Tailored blocks, content types, integrations and administrative tools developed without defaulting to plugin-heavy workarounds.
Flexible WordPress ecommerce for businesses whose content, products or operational requirements suit WooCommerce.
Audits, inherited builds, performance work, security improvements, redesigns and controlled redevelopment of established sites.
Some projects need more than a conventional content-led website. We build front ends, back-end functionality, APIs, integrations and ecommerce systems around the commercial and operational requirement.
WordPress remains the usual choice for bespoke content-led websites. Shopify development is often the stronger route when retail operations, products, orders and payments should sit on a dependable hosted commerce platform. We can also work with established content management systems and suitable PHP or Laravel-based applications when retaining the existing investment is sensible.
Semantic HTML, maintainable CSS and purposeful JavaScript used to turn approved interfaces into fast, responsive experiences.
Forms, APIs, search, filtering, CRM connections and custom functionality built around real workflows and clear ownership of data.
Shopify stores designed and developed around the brand, product catalogue, merchandising and path to purchase.
Structured WordPress, Shopify and appropriate PHP-based systems that make content safer and easier to manage.
SEO should connect what people search for with the pages, services and evidence that make the business worth choosing. We use technical analysis, Search Console data, page structure, content and internal linking to find where visibility is being lost and where useful commercial gains are realistically available.
Work can begin with an existing website or alongside a new build. Starting during structure and development is preferable because indexation, templates, redirects, performance and content ownership can be handled properly before they become expensive problems.
Crawling, indexation, canonicals, redirects, structured data, performance and technical obstacles assessed and prioritised.
Search intent, page targeting, headings, content depth, internal links and snippets aligned around commercially useful queries.
Location architecture, Google Business Profile, local relevance, citations and reviews developed without publishing thin doorway pages.
WordPress templates, theme code, plugins, archives, structured content and performance improved by somebody who can implement the development work.
A new website can expose a brand that no longer reflects the organisation behind it. When the positioning, identity or core message needs work, Blunt Notion can bring strategy, naming, messaging and visual identity into the same project.
Branding can be commissioned independently, but it becomes particularly useful when the new system needs to work immediately across a serious website, Shopify store or wider launch. The aim is not to place a new logo on everything. It is to create a recognisable, usable identity with enough structure to remain consistent after handover.
Commercial context, audience, competitors and positioning established before visual directions are developed.
Names, central messages, tone and language created where they form part of the wider identity requirement.
Logo systems, typography, colour, imagery and graphic behaviour designed to work together across formats.
Identity tested across websites, ecommerce, documents, campaigns and the practical applications included in the scope.
The services are connected, but that does not mean every project needs all of them. These are the three most common starting points.
Discovery, structure, design and development handled as one project, with SEO foundations considered before launch. The platform and scope follow the business requirement rather than a predetermined package.
Discuss a new websiteWe can assess an existing WordPress, Shopify, CMS or PHP-based website, identify what is worth retaining and prioritise repair, redesign, redevelopment or migration without assuming everything must be discarded.
Discuss an existing websiteFor websites that already receive impressions, traffic or enquiries but are being held back by technical problems, weak commercial pages, poor structure or a lack of focused implementation.

You aren’t sold a project by one team, interpreted by an account manager and handed to somebody junior who was absent from every important conversation.
Kieron leads discovery, website design, WordPress development and technical delivery directly. Appropriate specialists join when a project genuinely requires them, working under the Blunt Notion name with the relationship and final delivery managed as one project.
We design interfaces from scratch, plan content before development, test our own work and explain technical decisions in commercial terms. WordPress is our deepest expertise, but we will recommend Shopify or retain another suitable system when that is the more responsible answer.
Clients own the website and project code once the agreed work has been paid for. Hosting and support are available and recommended where useful, but neither is used to manufacture dependency.
New website, inherited WordPress build, Shopify store, technical problem, lost search visibility or a brand that no longer fits, tell us what is happening. We will help identify the sensible starting point and whether Blunt Notion is the right fit.
