Web Design & WordPress Development in Taunton
We’re based in Yeovil and work across Somerset. WordPress is our deepest specialism, but the platform follows the job, not the other way around.
A better website starts before the design.
Most underperforming websites do not have one tidy problem. The service pages are too vague. Important work is buried in the navigation. The design looks fine on a laptop but loses people on a phone. The content-management setup makes a simple edit more complicated than it should be.
We start with the business and the people buying from it. Which services bring in the right work? What do customers need to know before they call? Which pages already have search visibility worth protecting? The answers shape the sitemap, content and user journeys before we make visual decisions that are expensive to unpick later.
Blunt Notion can take a Taunton project from discovery and original design through custom WordPress development, launch and continued improvement. We also inherit existing sites. If a focused repair is more sensible than a full rebuild, we will say so.
You speak directly to the person responsible for the work. There is no account-management relay translating your brief into a different project.
Find the real problem.
We review your offer, current site, customer journeys and the pages that matter commercially. Existing Search Console, analytics and enquiry information help when available. We agree what success would look like before proposing the build.
Give every important thing a place.
Sitemap, service hierarchy, proof, locations and key calls to action come next. Wireframes are used where they help settle a decision. This is also when we protect valuable existing URLs and plan redirects for a redesign.
Design and develop for the requirement.
The interface is designed for the business. WordPress is built with custom code and practical editing components, not a prebuilt theme by default. Shopify or another established system is an option when it better serves the job.
Test, hand over and keep improving.
We test the site throughout development and before launch: responsive behaviour, forms, editing, accessibility, key integrations and search-critical settings. You can manage the site yourself, or ask us to host, support and extend it.
The right work, at the right time.
A website project can involve several disciplines. They should support the same commercial goal rather than arrive as disconnected add-ons.
-
Website design
Bespoke interfaces around real content, customer questions and a clear next step. Design that survives beyond the presentation deck.
-
WordPress development
Custom themes, flexible editing, WooCommerce and integrations. WordPress work from a developer who is comfortable inside the platform, not just its page builder.
-
Website development
Front-end and back-end work, inherited-site rescue, migrations, APIs and functionality that needs a proper technical answer.
-
SEO
Search-aware architecture, technical fixes and relevant content. We care about qualified enquiries, not a report packed with upward arrows.
What you get depends on what needs solving.
Blunt Notion is a good fit when your website has an important job to do. That might mean explaining a complicated service, supporting a sales team, bringing in local enquiries, selling products, or replacing a system nobody wants to update.
The scope can include discovery, a sitemap and page plan, wireframes where useful, original interface design, responsive development, CMS setup, integrations, migration, on-page and technical SEO foundations, testing, training and launch support. We agree what is included before work begins; the list is not a claim that every project needs all of it.
For a Taunton business with customers in Wellington, Bridgwater or further across Somerset, we can plan a clear service-area structure. That does not mean publishing near-identical town pages. Each location page needs a real reason to exist.
We are not selling a few-hundred-pound template site. Price and timescale depend on content, design, complexity and deadline. Phased delivery can work where the brief warrants it. Hosting and support are recommended where useful, not compulsory, and you own your website code.
CK Roofing Somerset.
Somerset project serving Taunton.
Structure built around the call they need.
CK Roofing is based in Somerton and works across Somerset, including Taunton. They needed a website that made the roofing services and coverage clear, showed customers why they could trust the team, and made it easy to ask for a quote.
We planned the content around those jobs, designed and developed a custom WordPress site, and built local search considerations into the structure. Service pages, area information and contact routes work together rather than leaving visitors to hunt for the answer.
The result is a site organised around the services people need, the areas CK Roofing covers and a clear route to request a quote.
Based in Yeovil. Available in Taunton.
Blunt Notion is based in Yeovil, not Taunton. For a Taunton project, we can meet in person when it is useful or work through focused calls, shared designs and a clear review process. Either way, you work with the person doing the job.
Some Taunton businesses sell mainly to people in town. Others cover Wellington, Bridgwater and the wider county, or work nationally. The site should reflect the real service area and how customers buy. We will not create a stack of copied location pages simply because a town has a postcode.
If you need broader county coverage, see our Somerset web design and WordPress work. If your business needs specific search support alongside the build, our local SEO service covers that work separately.
Straight answers before you commission a website.
You should know who will build the site, what you will own and what happens after launch. These are the questions worth asking before anyone shows you a design.
Blunt Notion is based in Yeovil and works with clients in Taunton and across Somerset. We can meet in person when it helps, and remote reviews often keep the work moving faster. You will know who is responsible for the project either way.
That depends on the number of page types, content, design work, functionality, integrations and deadline. We do not sell a few-hundred-pound template site. After an initial conversation we can scope the work and give you a clear proposal. A phased build is possible when that makes commercial sense.
A focused site and an involved WordPress or ecommerce rebuild do not belong on the same timetable. Content readiness and decision-making matter too. We agree a realistic delivery plan with you before work begins rather than promising an arbitrary launch date.
WordPress is our main specialism and often suits a content-led business site. Shopify can be better for a product-led store, and we can work with other established PHP-based content systems where the requirement calls for it. We recommend the platform after understanding the project.
Yes. We regularly work with inherited websites. We first check the code, editing setup, hosting, content and search visibility. The right next step might be repair, staged improvement or a rebuild; we will explain the trade-off.
We plan crawlable structure, sensible page hierarchy, responsive behaviour, performance and basic search settings as part of good website work. Dedicated keyword research, content rewriting, local SEO, technical remediation or ongoing growth work can be scoped separately. A website launch does not guarantee rankings.
Yes. You own the code for the website we build. The editing experience is planned around the content your team actually needs to change. Hosting and maintenance can be supplied, but they are not compulsory.
Tell us what the business does, what is wrong with the current setup, what you want the new site to achieve and any deadline you are working to. We will reply and arrange a call or meeting to understand the brief. If we are not the right fit, we will say so.
Tell us what your website needs to do.
New build, inherited WordPress problem or a site that no longer reflects the business? Send us the honest version. We will discuss the requirement, tell you where we can help and put a sensible scope around the work.
